Editorial transparency
Editorial and scientific review
The content of the NUTRALAB blog is written by our in-house editorial team and undergoes scientific review before publication. This page explains who does what and how, because a reader has the right to know the source of what they read.
Who writes
The NUTRALAB Editorial Team is the in-house working group of Nutralab S.r.l., based in San Marino, which formulates and produces food supplements. The articles stem from our daily work on raw materials, titrations, excipients and production processes.
Who reviews
Giuliano D'Alterio, a pharmaceutical chemist, reviews the scientific content of the blog: he verifies the accuracy of the information on active ingredients, dosages, mechanisms of action and molecular stability, and checks that statements are consistent with the cited literature. The date of the review is shown at the bottom of each article.
Editorial method
Each article begins with research into primary sources: studies indexed on PubMed, EFSA opinions, European and national regulations. Citations include the PMID or DOI, so that anyone can trace the original study.
Regarding claims, we follow Regulation (EC) 1924/2006 and, for botanical substances, the physiological effects permitted by the Italian Ministry of Health under the transitional regime. Scientific studies are reported as the current state of research and not as a promise of a result.
The articles are periodically reviewed and updated. When content changes substantially, the update date at the top of the article indicates this.
What this content is not
The blog articles are for informational purposes. A food supplement is not a medicine and is not intended for therapeutic purposes. For an assessment of your specific situation, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.
